Performance specialty products derived from sustainable resources
Nicholas E. Kob, Haibo Zhao, David Hester, and Ralph DiGuilio. Huntsman, 10003 Woodloch Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380
Huntsman has formed a team focused on sustainable chemistry. This team is actively investigating chemical derivitizations of sustainable feedstocks such as glycerine to make products that have high value end use applications. Application areas being investigated include epoxy curing agents, coatings, polyureas, and lubricants. The cost and performance of the products derived from sustainable feedstocks are being compared to products currently being used in those end use applications.
