KGI, the pioneer of the Professional Science Master’s degree, offers several educational programs for the life sciences industry. This talk will present the various bioprocessing programs KGI offers. The Master of Bioscience degree, a 2-year program blending business skills, broad industry knowledge, and hands-on mastery of bioprocessing technology, prepares students for management level positions in biotech and biopharma. The bioprocessing programs are guided by industry’s needs for today, and tomorrow, as we continue to evolve new courses and add on new programs. Last year we started a corporate training program, offering 2-3 days of intensive technical training, integrating lectures and hands-on activities. Some example topics are Fermentation Technology, Mammalian Cell Culture, Freeze/Thaw, and Downstream Purification. We are initiating a Master of Engineering in Bioprocessing degree program within the next year. This will be a 2-year graduate degree program in engineering focused on the bioprocessing discipline. This talk will share how, in every program, we foster skill development in teamwork, collaboration, communication, and leadership, as well as present our hands-on laboratory opportunities. Active learning techniques used to engage the students, the additional business skills training offered, as well as our capstone Team Master’s Project program will be highlighted in the presentation.
