An interesting alternative bioreactor system for cell cultivation: OrbShake (from mL to 2500L)

Since more than 60 years the shake flask is the standard shaken bioreactor in biotechnology. Regarding cell cultivation the shake flask has been used intensively since more than 10 years. This history inspired a group of people to scale up this technology. The presentation will focus on lager shaken biorectors up to 2500L scale. These shaken bioreactors (with disposable bags) are an alternative to standard bioreactors and have also some superior aspects which will be presented with biological and engineering data.
