Genome-guided strain improvement for natural products biosynthesis

The advent and application of next-generation sequencing technologies has opened the door to efficient sequencing, characterization and comparison of biological systems. The ability to conduct detailed comparative genome analyses of strains from a production strain lineage has enabled the identification of causative mutations leading to enhanced product formation. In this talk, I will describe the workflow that Dow AgroSciences is utilizing for efficient genome comparison, and approaches for interrogation of the results leading to advances in our strain improvement programs for natural products.
