With advancements in modern biotechnology and the outcry for more sustainable solutions, biobased fine and commodity chemicals become more and more attractive. Advancement made in the past decade in Metabolic Engineering and Random approaches for strain development made the search space of leading candidates too vast. Effective scale-down and up strategies is imperative to enable shorter development timelines for strain fitness at scale. Strain selection, identifying ideal metabolic pathway, raw material, target KPIs, regulatory, waste streams and other considerations at scale are essential parameters to consider in strain development campaign.
