The pretreatment process is the key to enabling the use of residual biomass for renewables. No matter the feedstock or end product, the aim of the pretreatment is to remove or alter parts of the biomass structure to improve the sugar availability and the yield.

BioGasol has specialized in the construction and scaling up of continuous pretreatment equipment for lignocellulose utilization, the Carbofrac® system. The equipment can be tailor made for each customer with regard to optimization for biomass, process, end-product and capacity with a few simple modifications. With the various customer projects handled at BioGasol, numerous feedstocks have been pretreated for different end products, only requiring minor changes to the system.

This presentation includes show cases of how the Carbofrac® is used for various purposes within renewables, both with regard to feedstock and with regard to end-product.
