BBI International Cellulosic Ethanol Project Update

Mark A. Yancey, Brian Duff, Scott Birkmire, and Chris Lindeman. BBI International, 300 Union Blvd., Suite 325, Denver, CO 80228

BBI International is engaged in a number of activities related to the engineering design and development of commercial cellulosic ethanol plants. This presentation will provide an update on those activities and provide a discussion forum for both technical and business related issues currently plaguing efforts to build cellulosic ethanol plants.

BBI is currently designing cellulosic ethanol plants that are expected to produce 4 and 12 million gallons per year of ethanol. These facilities will utilize agricultural products and agricultural waste residues for ethanol production. This presentation will provide an overview of each project as well as an update on the projects’ progress. Examples of the technical and business obstacles encountered and the path that BBI and its clients are or have taken to remove these obstacles will be presented. Issues related to pretreatment of biomass, fermentation and debt financing are a few examples of the issues that will be addressed.

This presentation will be of interest to anyone involved in developing a cellulosic ethanol project, as well as potential investors, lenders and technology providers.
