The Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center (Synberc) is composed of a highly multidisciplinary research community and has the ambitious goal of making biology easier to engineer. The aims of Synberc is to help feed, fuel, and cure all the world's people, which can only be achieved by a research community that is as diverse as  the community it endeavors to serve. For this reason, we believe that diversity is vital to our research success and must be a part of the very fabric of our organization. This poster describes Synberc's activities aimed to inspire and assist every member of the synthetic biology community to weave best practices of diversity and inclusion into their daily research lives. We believe many of these activities are portable and can be useful to the broader research community for increasing STEM diversity.
