Extraction and Solubilization of Proteins using Novel Buffer System

We have recently developed a protein extraction and solubilization system for the extraction of proteins from E. coli which allows for the recovery of protein not previously recovered by commercially available extraction buffers. Proteins with poor solubility and those that are likely associated with the membrane often fail to yield bands by PAGE leading one to conclude that they are not being expressed. We have developed a system for the solubilization of aggregates and the stabilization of previously recalcitrant proteins.
