The research and development environment has changed continuously over the years and the tools and processes to deliver projects from research and development to commercialization have also evolved. No longer are organizations limited to working with one type of organism or developing processes using tools that have been used for years. Scientist and engineers are using high-throughput tools and automation in every step of the development process today. This presentation will explore different technologies that are currently or soon will be on the market in the areas of clone/strain generation, bioreactors, downstream resin screens and quality control and assurance. It will also look at whether or not the new technologies address Quality by Design initiatives.
