Unlimited by enzymes found in nature, Arzeda's groundbreaking technology enables engineering enzymes for virtually any reaction. Our process integrates the power of chemical catalysis, the high selectivity of biological macromolecules, and the speed of computational design to rapidly design and evaluate new enzymes in silico. Arzeda's proprietary software and knowhow to create and screen a vast, virtual library of candidates (exceeding 10^50 variants) greatly increases the chance of finding an ideal biocatalyst. Ultimately we select the 100 best enzyme candidates from computational design to express and validate in vitro, which greatly reduces the time, costs and effort of doing the entire process in the lab. Our approach also eliminates the reliance on naturally occurring enzymes, thus opens previously inaccessible opportunities and hugely expands the scope of industrial biocatalysis. Examples of designed enzymes with novel activities and their experimental validation are presented.
