Large-scale transfection of HEK293 and CHO cells for recombinant protein production
Yves Durocher, Biotechnology Research Institute,, 6100 Royalmount avenue, Montreal, QC H4P 2R2, Canada
Large-scale transfection of HEK293 cells has proven itself as a powerful technology for the fast production of r-proteins. As many would prefer using CHO cells in order to minimize post-translation modification dissimilarities between transiently and stably expressed genes, a CHO cell-based transfection platform has also been developed. We will present our simple, robust and scalable polyethylenimine-based transient expression platforms that provides r-protein titers at up to 200 mg/L within 5-10 days post-transfection.
