Large scale production of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans colony  in modified culture medium and investigation capility in copper bioleaching

Acdithiobacillus ferrooxidans , the , most widely implicated bacterium in the bioleaching of sulphide ore.It grow slowly and it is Log phase at least in ten days, so selection of pure culture of  this bacteria is so important . In this work,we use and assaied number of different liquid and solid media.PLS of Sarcheshmeh mine , in the southern part of Iran , was used in this study and 10% inoculated in cultures. Among liquid media , 9K and TK medium are more desirable.From This liquid media in Log phase was cultured in solid media. We succssed to growth of bacteria in some solid media. Colonies shape dependent on type of media. Results showed the most desirable solid media is type of modified 9K.In this work we used different dose of material and gelling agent and succssed to produce high number of indigenous A. f. colony.
