Biorefineries are facilities that convert biomass of various kinds into energy, fuels and chemicals and a variety of biorefinery technologies are at various stages of development around the world. Lignol has developed its own proprietary biorefining process which is ready for commercial deployment. In the past, the primary focus of many biorefinery processes has been the production of biofuels such as cellulosic ethanol but deployment of these biorefineries has so far been extremely limited due, in part, to the challenging economics of solely producing cellulosic ethanol from biomass.

This presentation will discuss the flexibility that is built into Lignol’s biorefinery technology and how this can provide beneficial economic returns through the production of a diverse product mix of biochemicals and bioproducts to help unlock economic opportunities for biofuels production.
